Seinfeld’s George Costanza and Elaine Benes are together again…. well, not really, but the actors who play them, Jason Alexander and Julia Louis-Dreyfus will be together on an upcoming episode of the New Adventures of Old Christine when the show returns mid-season. Jason Alexander will play a - get this - lizard handler for children’s birthday parties. Yes, I’ll say it again… a lizard handler. And better yet, his character will take Julia’s character Christine out on a date!

We will keep you updated as we hear more, and when we have a seaon premiere date for the show.

Despite the promise that the New Adventures of Old Christine showed eary in its first season, it has barely squeaked by to be awarded a second season by CBS. But unfortunately for fans, the season will be a shortened 13 episode run and will be a mid-season replacement, meaning we have no idea when or where it will eventually pop up on the schedule.

New Adventures of Old Christine on the chopping block

Thursday, March 29th, 2007 on SpoilerBuzz.com

I am not a huge fan of New Adventures of Old Christine, but I admit I was happy to see that the Seinfeld curse had apparently been lifted. Well, apparently not. Old Christine is back on the chopping block, and speculation is that Julia Louis-Dreyfus cursed it herself when bragging about her hit show on Saturday Night Live.

Two days after Julia Louis-Dreyfus declared it a “big fat hit” on SNL, the show sank to its lowest ratings ever. The only good news is that I hear NBC is interested in picking it up if CBS drops it. Hey, I’ve got an idea: NBC should offer them Medium in exchange for Christine, that way everyone’s happy!

Ooops.

New Adventures of Old Christine to return in March

Thursday, February 22nd, 2007 on SpoilerBuzz.com

Just in case you were wondering what happened to New Adventures of Old Christine, don’t worry, it is returning next month after being unceremoniously dumped for Rules of Engagement. But the show now has an airdate for the show’s return in March, albiet in a weird kind of schedule.

March 12th will see the Julia Louis-Dreyfus series return at 8pm, with two back-to-back brand new episodes. Then the following week, it will move to its normal 8:30 timeslot on Monday, March 19th, where it will replace The Class.

Good news for fans of the show, since it won’t be one of those ugly permanent hiatuses that so many new shows end up receiving.

The New Adventures of Old Christine here for the full season

CBS has now picked up a full season of Emmy award winning The New Adventures of Old Christine.  The comedy started as a mid-season show last season, winning Julia Louis-Dreyfus an Emmy for her role.  But CBS had only picked up 13 episodes for this season.  They began ordering additional scripts over the past few weeks, and finally upped it to a full season of 22 episodes yesterday.

The show, which follows Louis-Dreyfus as a divorcee who still gets on with her ex-husband (how rare is that these days!) and has been generating more viewers this season than its first season average.

The New Adventures of Old Christine airs on Mondays on CBS.
